One of the main objectives of Data Against Feminicide is to foster an international community of practice around feminicide data. A community of practice is a “group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly” (Wenger). We consider all individuals and groups who work or want to work with feminicide data to belong to this community, including activists, technologists, public officials, journalists, civil society, and academics. Our goal has been to create spaces for interaction, to share learning and experiences.
The first gathering of the feminicide data community, with more than 500 people registered to participate, took place in 2020. Since then, we have held annual meetings every November, in commemoration of the International Day to End Violence against Women (November 25). These community events are open, free, and have simultaneous interpretation in our working languages.
In this page you can explore a timeline of our community events and access the recordings, graphic summaries, and materials shared at each gathering, or find community members in the directory.

The first community event was a series of sessions was designed to bring together activists and civil society organizations, public officials, academics, and journalists who work or want to work with feminicide data.
