Visibilities: art and feminicide data
The 2022 edition of Data against Feminicide focused on the intersection between artistic practices and data for the visibility of gender violence and feminicide.
In the first event “More than numbers: voices of relatives of victims of femicide” we met 3 organizations of relatives of victims of femicide: Atravesadxs por el feminicidio (Argentina), the Coordinadora 19 de Diciembre and the Asociación de víctimas de feminicidio, both From Chile.
The second event “Data and artistic practices in the fight against femicide” we address artistic practices and how they are a tool to make gender violence visible. Moderated by the curator Jimena Acosta, the artist collectives SJF, NoEstamosTodas (Mexico), the Uruguayan artists Marby Blanco and Ale García (Cortar el hilo project) and the writer Alice Driver (@reporterdriver) presented their projects and how they interpretated data to build narratives and art pieces.
