In August 2023, we launched the Portuguese version of the Data Against Feminicide Email Alerts: our platform to support the monitoring of femicides through relevant news on the subject.
In this event, we heard from activists from different regions of Brazil about their experiences collecting feminicide data, and we conducted a workshop on our platform, which was co-designed by Brazilian activists, for the collection of data on feminicides.
The event was organized by the Data + Feminism Lab in partnership with Brazilian organizations engaged in this cause: Coletivo Feminismo Plural – Lupa Feminista (Rio Grande do Sul), Fórum Cearense de Mulheres (Ceará), Laboratório de Estudos de Feminicídios (LESFEM) (Paraná), Grupo de Trabalho sobre o Feminicídio (Bahia), and Néias – Observatório de Feminicídios de Londrina (Paraná).
